A man with a young family. A man who pursues honor and dignity, striving to do right but failing, always failing. And that’s the thing with finding oneself in a hole – you can’t stop digging, it’s a natural reflex. And Samora digs and digs and digs because he has the heart (and arms) for it but also because he’s a bit of an idiot.

Even when his tide has obviously turned, he doesn’t notice because his head is in the sand. This is not a story about redemption, sacrifice or any of those things we want to read about. This is about idiocy and working one’s way between a rock and a wife.
